CRNO is accepting applications from young adults (age 19-29) enrolled in full-time, year-long (September 2011 – July/August 2012) volunteer service in the Greater New Orleans area.
Dear applicants,
Congratulations!!! You’ve decided to dedicate the next year of your life to serving the people of the Greater New Orleans area. We applaud your courage and commitment to making a difference by lending the gifts of your time and talents.
We challenge you to think about the year ahead, and what it means for you to be in a new place with new people and new experiences. Christ calls us to true change and honest service by walking and living in solidarity with those you serve. How will you truly become a part of the community and not just a visitor or outsider looking in? What are ways to make your relationships and experiential learnings long-lasting and life-changing? How can this year help you clear out the clutter and really get down to the business of finding your direction in life? How does your faith intersect with your service?
If you are thirsty for a deeper, richer experience, we invite you to join CRNO’s Intentional Christian Community, a place where individualism gives way to shared values and practices. Being a part of a community requires recognizing that we all have something to give and something to receive (love, grace, kindness, jokes, toothpaste). Become enriched and strengthen your capacity to love and serve others by drawing upon the diverse Christian traditions and experiences of the other community members. If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
